MIRI: A new riverside park to be built in Piasau here is expected to enhance the local environment complete with a vibrant recreational space for residents.

Strategically positioned along the riverbank adjacent to the Jalan Piasau commercial centre, the park aims to boost foot traffic and commercial activity in the area.

Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii who inspected the construction site on Saturday (Feb 22) reiterated the importance of adhering to high-quality standards and maintaining the project’s timeline.

Speaking to contractors, he emphasised the significance of delivering a well-executed public space for the community.

“This project not only improves the local surroundings but also offers a safe and comfortable environment for residents to enjoy. I urge the contractors to strictly follow quality requirements and ensure timely completion,” said Yii.

The initiative is being financed under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), with funding secured by Yii.

The construction will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase currently in progress. This initial stage includes the development of jogging tracks, viewing platforms, fencing, seating areas, and the planting of blossom trees to create a picturesque natural setting.
