DALAT: A new Fire and Rescue Station will be built in Dalat with a RM9.8 million allocation, marking a major step forward in strengthening emergency response services for the area.
The project, approved under the Fifth Rolling Plan (RP5) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), is scheduled to begin in early 2026 and is expected to be completed within 19 months.
Dalat assemblywoman Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah visited the proposed site on Monday (Jun 30), located near the Dalat Welfare Complex said the project answers a long-standing request from the people in Dalat.
“I call on all related agencies to work together from the start to ensure smooth implementation,” she said.
Fatimah, who is also Woman, Early Childhokd and Community Wellbeing Development Minister, added that the project will also include apartment-style quarters to house fire personnel stationed in Dalat, stating that Mukah is ahead of others, with both site and land already approved.
“If there’s a need for more staff in the future, the new quarters will be able to accommodate them,” she added.
The new facility is expected to boost Dalat’s readiness in handling emergencies and strengthen public safety infrastructure across Mukah.
