KUCHING: Entertainment outlet operators in the Padawan district must comply with the operating hours as stipulated in their permits.

A police team raided an entertainment outlet at 3am yesterday and arrested a local aged 46, who was in charge of the outlet.

Padawan deputy police chief, DSP Merbin anak Lisa said police seized a Karaoke set and brought four customers of the outlet for urine tests.

He added that the case is being investigated under section 24 of the Entertainment Ordinance 2001 which provides a fine not exceeding RM2,000 or jail term not exceeding six months or both upon conviction.

Merbin also urged owners of entertainment centres to comply with the terms and conditions of their licences/permits issued by the Padawan Municipal Council and to renew them promptly.
