BINTULU: Patients at Hospital Bintulu’s children’s ward received Hari Gawai contributions during a welfare visit held in conjunction with the ‘SarawakKu Sayang’ (SKS) 2026 programme today.
The visit was led by Dayang Norjihan, daughter of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, alongside Women MAKSAK Sarawak’s Chairman, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, and committee members from the state and Bintulu divisions.
During the programme, cash contributions of RM100 each were distributed to patients at the ward through the bureau’s welfare fund.
The delegation also spent time meeting patients and their family members while delivering festive contributions ahead of the upcoming Gawai celebration.

As part of the welfare initiative, SARA Cares hampers were also handed over to Hospital Bintulu for distribution to 20 underprivileged staff members.
Meanwhile, two recipients, comprising a civil servant and a government retiree undergoing treatment for chronic illnesses at Sarawak General Hospital, received RM500 each under the MAKSAK Cares assistance programme.
The welfare programme formed part of activities organised by Women MAKSAK Sarawak during the SKS 2026 programme in Bintulu, which focused on community wellbeing and volunteerism among state civil servants.
An annual grant amounting to RM5,000 was also presented to the Women MAKSAK Bintulu division to support welfare and community-based activities at the local level.
