KUCHING: Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas) hosted a franchise and business engagement session here today (April 11), drawing a strong turnout from the local business community.
The event was co-organised with the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) and the Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI).
ACCCIS Commerce Committee Chairman and KCGCCI Vice President Dennis Chin Ching Chung described the session as a valuable platform for businesses to better understand government support available to them.
“This event also opens doors for local enterprises to explore meaningful opportunities for growth and expansion,” he added.
Pernas Chief Executive Officer Datuk Nor Azam M. Taib reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s franchise ecosystem and nurturing local business development.
“Entrepreneurs need to take full advantage of available programmes to sharpen their competitiveness and scale up their operations,” he urged.
During the session, Pernas officers walked participants through the agency’s range of products and services, covering franchise development initiatives, financing schemes and capacity-building programmes.
A highlight of the event was a business clinic that allowed participants to sit down with Pernas officers for one-to-one consultations.
The personalised sessions gave business owners the opportunity to receive guidance tailored to their specific circumstances and goals.
Pernas expressed hope that the programme would deepen ties between government agencies and the business community across the country.
The agency also pledged to take its engagement sessions to other states, widening access to its services for entrepreneurs nationwide.
Through these efforts, Pernas aims to empower more business communities to tap into the support available and drive sustainable growth.
