KUCHING: The Kuching Car Free Morning (KCFM) Hari Raya Edition will be held on April 12 at Medan Raya Masja, Petra Jaya, marking its first-ever staging in the area.
The event, scheduled from 6 am to 10 am, will also mark the launch of KCFM Petra Jaya as a monthly initiative to be held on the second week of every month.
The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) said the programme aims to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle, with the special Hari Raya edition offering the public an opportunity to enjoy a vehicle-free morning while celebrating the festive season with family and friends.
“A range of activities has been lined up, including walking and cycling sessions, aerodance and aerobics, a Hari Raya parade, and a Digital Info Hunt. Children can also look forward to inflatable play areas, while the ‘DBKU On the Move’ programme will bring various local council services closer to the community,” it said.
DBKU also said KCFM provides a platform for the public to engage in recreational activities in a safe, car-free environment while fostering closer community ties, especially during the festive season.
“Members of the public are encouraged to attend in their Hari Raya attire to further enliven the atmosphere. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to cultivate a healthy lifestyle while strengthening social cohesion within the community,” it said.
Members of the public, particularly residents in Petra Jaya and surrounding areas, are invited to take part in the programme, which promises a vibrant blend of fitness, festivity and family-friendly activities.
