LONG BANGA: Residents of Long Banga welcomed the contribution of basic medical equipment to the Long Banga Health Clinic.
The contribution was made possible through collaboration between Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) and the Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (SABATI).
The handover was officiated by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala, recently.
He expressed his appreciation that Long Banga was selected as one of the 26 rural health clinics included in this initiative.
Gerawat said the effort aligns with the Sarawak government’s commitment under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, which places the people’s well-being at the heart of the state’s development.
“Health is the foundation of a community’s well-being. This initiative is in line with the state government’s policy to improve access to quality healthcare in remote areas,” he said.
He also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening the state’s healthcare system and supporting the digitalisation and transformation of health services for the benefit of the people.
“I hope similar initiatives can be extended to other rural areas that are still in need of medical equipment and facility support,” he added.
