KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that further discussions will be held soon to finalise the ongoing matters between PETRONAS and PETROS.

In a Facebook post today, Anwar said that he had spoken with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday regarding the PETRONAS-PETROS negotiations, which are being pursued based on previously agreed principles.

“Once the Premier returns from his official visit to London, United Kingdom, we will promptly resume discussions to reach a final resolution,” he said.

He also urged all parties to refrain from taking any action or making public statements on the matter in the meantime, citing the importance of preserving mutual interests.

“I am highly confident that this issue can be resolved with wisdom and integrity by remaining firmly within the path of constructive and meaningful dialogue, God-willing,” he added.

Earlier, during the Sarawak Agenda Town Hall held in conjunction with Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2025 – UK Edition, Abang Johari had mentioned that both sides were committed to reaching a fair and amicable solution regarding the PETRONAS-Sarawak oil and gas matters.
