BINTANGOR: Police from the Meradong District Police Headquarters here carried out a safety monitoring visit at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Meradong boarding school here on Friday night.

The 9:30 pm visit, led by Sergeant Ibrahim Bale and Constable Faizal Suib, was aimed at assessing the school’s safety level and overall environment.

Meradong District police in a Facebook post said the initiative was part of efforts to ensure that the security and order of the school remain at an optimum level while enhancing police visibility and presence in educational institutions.

“The visit also sought to ensure that the school environment remains free from criminal threats, bullying, or immoral activities,” the statement read.

Meradong District police added that the visit served as a platform to strengthen cooperation between the police and the school community, provide safety advice, and raise students’ awareness of crime prevention and personal safety.

Security checks were also carried out to identify potential risk areas for future improvement.

“The visit went smoothly and received good cooperation from the school management. Such initiatives will continue to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment,” the statement read.
