BINTULU: A pre-dawn crash along Jalan Bintulu–Miri left two people seriously injured and two others slightly hurt when their pickup truck crashed to the roadside today (Oct 15).
The 6 am accident saw a Toyota Hilux, carrying two men and two women, veer out of control before coming to a halt near Kampung Padang Batu.
The impact left a 20-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman trapped in their seats. Meanwhile, the other two were rescued by members of the public and taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters from Bintulu station were promptly dispatched to the scene following an emergency call and used hydraulic rescue tools to free the trapped victims.
Both were later handed over to paramedics for treatment before being sent to the hospital for further care.
The cause of the accident is currently under police investigation.
