KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited to attend the Sarawak-level Gawai Dayak Celebration 2026, including the Niti Daun procession and the state Gawai dinner later this month.
The invitation was extended during a courtesy call led by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also chairman of the Sarawak-level Gawai Dayak Celebration 2026 organising committee, at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here today (June 16).
Abang Johari is set to be the guest of honour for the Niti Daun procession at the Kuching Waterfront on June 20.
He is also expected to attend the state-level Gawai Dayak Dinner at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on June 21.
The dinner is expected to be graced by the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is also expected to attend the event.
