LIMBANG: The proposed site for the Limbang Integrated Health Complex (KKBB) must be practical, suitable and resilient to ensure the planned health facility can effectively serve the community’s needs in the long term.
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib said several key factors needed to be considered in selecting the site, including its suitability, soil structure, rising sea levels, accessibility and strategic location.
She explained that those considerations were important to ensure strategic development could be carried out in a well-planned manner while supporting the future healthcare needs of the Limbang community.
“Selecting a practical and sustainable site is very important to ensure the development of the clinic can be implemented in a planned manner, while being able to support the healthcare service needs of Limbang in the future,” she said in a Facebook posting following a site visit today.
Hanifah, together with representatives from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), State Health Department (JKNS) and Limbang Divisional Health Office (PKB), visited the proposed site in conjunction with the fourth series of the Borneo Health Tour (JKB) in the division.
Also present was Deputy Transport Minister and Limbang MP Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, who provided his views on the suitability of the proposed site to ensure the project meets the needs of local residents.
Hanifah added the views of all parties were taken into consideration during the assessment, particularly aspects that would affect the facility’s viability, accessibility, safety and resilience healthcare in the long term.
