SRI AMAN: All leadership positions in Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), including the president and deputy president posts, will be contested at the upcoming Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) scheduled for October.

PRS vice president Datuk Mong Dagang said the decision on which positions would be contested ultimately depends on nominations from the party’s divisions.

“This depends on the divisions to nominate and choose wisely. I have been in PRS for a long time, so I hope they can make the best decision,” he was quoted saying by a news report from TVS when met after the Benak Road Trail Run 2025 at the Sri Aman Waterfront today (Sept 7).

Mong said if he is re-elected to a leadership position, his main focus would be to work closely with the incoming leadership, following PRS president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum’s decision to step down and pave the way for new candidates.

“This party does not belong to one person alone, but requires cooperation from all parties, including the Supreme Council, to ensure PRS remains relevant today,” he said.
