PUTRAJAYA: Putrajaya police are fully prepared for the 2025 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on August 31, said District Police Chief, ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed.
He said 2,326 personnel have been deployed to ensure security and smooth traffic flow at the venue and surrounding areas.
Regarding today’s full rehearsal, he said it ran smoothly, with thousands of spectators adhering to the instructions and regulations.
“Alhamdulillah, the full rehearsal proceeded well, especially in terms of security control and traffic management,” he told BERNAMA.
He advised visitors to use public transport, arrive early, and take care of their children and personal belongings during the event.
Earlier, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced that roads around Putrajaya’s core island would be closed to private vehicles from 6:00 pm on August 29 until the end of the National Day parade on August 31.
In conjunction with the celebrations, water taxi services will operate on August 30 from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am, and on August 31 from 5:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Free bus services will also be available on August 31, with pick-up points at Putrajaya Sentral, Putrajaya International Convention Centre, and Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Presint 1.
The National Day 2025 celebration will begin as early as 7:00 a.m. this Sunday with the arrival of national leaders, followed by the arrival of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim.
The celebration will commence with the hoisting of the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ by members of the Royal Malaysian Navy, the recitation of the ‘Rukun Negara’ pledge, and a parade involving various government agencies, private sectors, and non-governmental organisations along a 2.1-kilometre route.
A total of 14,010 participants, 78 vehicle assets, seven decorated floats, 116 animals, and 21 marching bands will enliven the parade. – BERNAMA
