KUCHING: Registration for the Basic Job Coach Course 2026 has been extended until May 19 following encouraging public response towards inclusive employment and community development initiatives in Sarawak.
The three-day programme, organised by Trainer and Job Coach Association of Kuching Division, will be held from May 27 to May 29 at Kuching Lifecare Society from 8 am until 6 pm daily.
“The extension was made following overwhelming public interest and requests from potential participants seeking additional time to complete their registration,” the association said in a statement today (May11).
According to the association, the course is designed to expose participants to the fundamentals, ethics and practical responsibilities involved in becoming an effective Job Coach within communities.
“The programme also aims to strengthen understanding on inclusive employment practices, particularly in supporting Persons with Disabilities and individuals requiring employment assistance,” it added.
Participants will learn communication methods, workplace support strategies, community-based employment approaches and practical coaching techniques through interactive activities and real-life sharing sessions during the programme.
The course is open to volunteers, educators, students, parents, employers, non-governmental organisations and community members interested in contributing towards inclusive workforce participation and career empowerment initiatives.
Participation fees are set at RM300 for general participants, RM200 for students, Persons with Disabilities, Community Rehabilitation Centres and NGOs, while members of the organising association may attend free.
“The course reflects ongoing efforts to empower communities with skills and awareness needed to support sustainable employment opportunities for vulnerable and underserved groups,” the association explained further.
Participants completing the programme will receive a Certificate of Participation endorsed by the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia, recognising their involvement in inclusive employment support and advocacy initiatives.
Seats for the programme are limited, and interested participants are encouraged to register before the extended deadline to secure placement in the upcoming training course.
