KUCHING: Coffee O Corner Sdn Bhd, commonly known as Kopi-O Corner Restaurant, is holding a year-long “Experience Sarawak” Programme   in conjunction with Sarawak More To Discover Campaign.

The company’s advisor Datuk Mohd Kepli Ahmad said the restaurant would be preparing a special menu that included Sarawak local and traditional food.

“With that, not only locals but also tourists will get a taste of the local cuisine.

“When tourists come to Sarawak, they want to explore our attractions and try  our local food,” he added.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg launched the programme at the restaurant on Sunday night.

In his speech, he thanked Kepli for organising the programme that could help  the tourism industry.

“This restaurant is one of its kind. It displays vintage and antique items and reminds me of my grandmother’s era when I enter it,” said Abang Johari.

He praised Kepli as a very visionary entrepreneur who not only wanted to promote Sarawak’s local food but also preserve vintage items for the younger generations to admire and appreciate.

The Chief Minister’s wife Datuk Amar  Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang,   Tourism, Arts, Culture Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah  and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy Youth chief Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman were among those present.
