KUCHING: Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) members have been urged to revisit, rethink, and recharge to remain innovative and dynamic in fulfilling their roles in 2025.
In his New Year message, `State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said civil servants must continuously enhance their knowledge, skills, and expertise in this era of rapid change.
He pointed out that lifelong learning is crucial to remain relevant and competitive in supporting the aspirations and vision of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“In 2025, let us embrace the challenges ahead, improve our services, and seize new opportunities to deliver Sarawak’s aspiration to be a developed region by 2030 under Abang Johari’s visionary leadership,” he said.
According to Abu Bakar, 2025 will be a critical period as it marks the final implementation year of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), which makes it a shared responsibility to ensure all planned projects and initiatives are implemented with high standards and according to schedule.
“I call upon all civil servants to enhance cooperation as a united team. This teamwork spirit is essential for us to achieve our common goals.
“By working as a team, I am confident that we can reach greater heights and achieve even greater success together,” he said.
Abu Bakar stated that it is crucial for department heads to go down to the ground and understand the actual on-site situation.
Such an approach will not only enhance the effectiveness of project implementation but also ensure issues and challenges faced by the people are addressed promptly and effectively.
