BAU: A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a utility pole along Jalan Bau-Kuching near Kampung Buso here early today (May 21).
Bau Police Chief, Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, said the victim was found unconscious in a roadside bush about five metres from his motorcycle after police received information from the public around 6:50 am.
“The victim was believed to have been riding alone from Bau heading to his family home in Kampung Kopit Siniawan.
“The motorcycle is believed to have veered onto the right road shoulder before crashing into the iron pole,” he said.
The victim, identified as Yohanes Idi Naing, was pronounced dead at the scene around 8:30 am by medical personnel.
His body was later sent to Bau Hospital for post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
