SERIAN: The voices of women will continue to be heard and valued to ensure their interests, which have the potential to bring significant changes at various administrative levels, are not sidelined.
Having said this, Serian Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem, assured women’s voices will remain an important force for the well-being of society and the progress of the nation.
“Today, women’s voices are not only heard at the village level but have also become increasingly important at the district, state and even national levels,” he said at the 43rd Anniversary Dinner of the Sarawak Women’s Federation (PPWS) and the Kampung Rasau Women’s Bureau held at the Kampung Rasau Multipurpose Hall here today.
He noted that organisations such as PPWS are vital in providing a platform for women to continue voicing their opinions and contributing to various areas of administration.
Riot also called for the association to be further strengthened and to remain active in its role of developing the community.
The event aimed to recognise and appreciate the dedication and contributions of PPWS members throughout their service while fostering closer ties among new and long-serving members.
