“As of January this year, 17 new applications and 184 renewals have been recorded, with an expenditure of RM4,406,046.00,” she said during a visit to the Haemodialysis Ward at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) today.
She added that additional haemodialysis machines have been supplied to public health institutions under the BKPBP programme to accommodate the growing number of kidney patients, replace outdated machines, and meet the high usage demand.
To address these needs, 30 haemodialysis machines have been distributed to public health institutions across Sarawak, with a total expenditure of RM1.236 million.
