KAPIT: Assistant Minister for Community Wellbeing, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis who is also Simanggang state assemblyman has recently attended the ‘Pot-Luck Gathering’ held at the St Lawrence Church (Dewan Gereja St Lawrence), Sri Aman organised by the Parish Central Committee of St Lawrence Church.
At the function, Francis, on behalf of the state government handed over a grant amounting RM300,000 from Unit For Other Religions (Unifor) to St Lawrence Church for the purpose of infrastructure and amenity upgrading and renovation project. At hand to receive the grant was Reverend Father Jackson Jarau on behalf of the church.
Unifor is funded by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government led by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to assist other religions such as Buddhist and Christian for their activities.
Present together at the gathering were Reverend Father Jackson Jarau, chairman of the St Lawrence Parish Central Committee, Edward Jerah and his committee members.
