SERIAN: A total of RM550,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) fund has been allocated for infrastructure development within the Kedup constituency.
Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Martin Ben, said RM350,000 from the amount was allocated for the construction of a new community hall in Kampung Sungai Linsat, while RM200,000 was set aside for site preparation for the building of a church and hall in Kampung Mapu Tragu/Sadong.
“This substantial allocation not only reflects the Sarawak Government’s commitment to the people’s well-being but also serves as a catalyst to strengthen social unity and foster more productive community activities,” he said when officiating the site handover ceremony in Kampung Sungai Linsat and Mapu Tragu recently.
Martin, who is also Kedup Assemblyman, said that the allocation for the church and hall in Kampung Mapu Tragu/Sadong had already been approved and will be released once site preparation works are completed.
With close supervision from the Serian Public Works Department and the Serian District Council, he said the projects are expected to be completed on schedule, bringing direct benefits to the local community.
