MIRI: In conjunction with the upcoming Sarawak Day celebrations, the Miri District Police have announced a temporary road closure for the Unity Walk event scheduled to take place this July 22 in the city centre.
The road closures will begin at 7:00 am and continue until 9:00 am, covering the parade route from Miri Indoor Stadium and along the following roads – Jalan Sukan, Jalan Kipas, Jalan Sylvia, Jalan Parry, Jalan North Yu Seng, and Jalan Merpati.
According to Miri District police chief, ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, the temporary closures will be implemented in phases to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Unity Walk.
“Members of the public are advised to cooperate fully with the police and obey all instructions given during the event to ensure a safe and smooth celebration,” he said.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys and avoid the affected routes during the parade period.
