KOTA PADAWAN: Police are on the hunt for an armed man who held up a convenience store in Kota Sentosa and fled with over RM1,200 in cash early Monday (May 4).

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the lone suspect struck at around 4.30am and escaped on foot after the robbery.

“The man was armed with a knife and made off with RM1,249 in cash.

“Investigations are underway and efforts are ongoing to track the suspect down.”

Members of the public with information on the suspect are urged to report them to police operations centre at 082-862233.

The case is being investigated under Section 392/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.

It was understood that the suspect allegedly brandished the knife at employees and ordered them to hand over money.

Fearing for their safety, they complied and opened the cash register, allowing the suspect to grab the cash.
