KAPIT: Preparations at Rumah Tang in Nanga Banyau, Baleh, are progressing smoothly ahead of its role as the second stopover for the Rakit Safari Baleh-Kapit 2025.
Works Minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, said he was satisfied with the level of readiness observed on the ground.
“The residents were clearly enthusiastic and well-prepared to receive participants.
“It’s encouraging to see such strong community spirit for this annual programme,” he said in a Facebook post after visiting the longhouse recently.
The visit was carried out ahead of the June 12 stopover, as Nanta will not be able to attend the event due to prior commitments.
During the visit, Nanta, who is the Kapit Member of Parliament, also approved two community development projects for Rumah Tang, namely a drainage system and an awning to support the long-term needs of the residents.
He commended longhouse chief, Tang Siput, for his proactive leadership and effective cooperation with government agencies in driving local development.
Nanta also contributed cash assistance to the Rumah Tang Women’s Bureau to support their involvement in the event’s preparations.
