KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Pakatan Harapan (PH) respects the decision of Barisan Nasional (BN) not to work with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the 17th Sabah State Election.
Anwar, who is also PH Chairman, said the coalition was not caught in the middle by the decision, and would continue to discuss to find a solution.
“PH will also continue to discuss with BN and GRS. We will continue to negotiate, no matter what, negotiate well and find a solution,” he told reporters after attending the Federal Territories Mufti Department’s Temu Mesra Programme here today.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, announced the final decision of BN and Sabah UMNO not to work with GRS in the state election.
Ahmad Zahid said instead, the party had decided to only work with PH in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election.
The 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly will automatically dissolve on November 11 if it is not dissolved earlier, thus paving the way for the 17th State Election. – BERNAMA
