DARO: The Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Daro branch aims to distribute 8,000 packets of bubur lambuk to the local community throughout the month of Ramadan.
Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad stated that the distribution will be carried out through 10 SABERKAS units covering 10 villages around Daro.
“With a target of 8,000 packets, each unit will distribute at least 800 packets of bubur lambuk in their respective villages.
“We have also prepared a distribution schedule for each village through the SABERKAS units,” he said.
He made these remarks while officiating at the launch ceremony of the SABERKAS Daro Branch Bubur Lambuk Roadshow at Surau Darul Makmur, Kampung Itol, here, recently.
In this regard, Safiee, who is also the secretary-general of SABERKAS Sarawak, stated that this initiative is part of SABERKAS’ efforts to foster a spirit of togetherness and assist those in need, especially during Ramadan.
He explained that this programme has become synonymous with the month of Ramadan and serves as a platform for youth to collaborate with the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in their respective villages.
Additionally, he urged all parties to continue supporting the community programmes organised by SABERKAS to ensure that all segments of society benefit.
Apart from the bubur lambuk launch, SABERKAS Daro also distributed 100 food baskets to underprivileged groups.
The distribution of these food baskets is part of SABERKAS’s efforts to ease the burden of those less fortunate during Ramadan.
Safiee added that the provision of these food baskets is hoped to alleviate some of the recipients’ burdens, particularly in preparing for the blessed month.
