SAINS inks MoU with Bluesify for digital innovation

KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) and Bluesify Solutions Sdn Bhd (Bluesify) have formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cybersecurity capabilities and driving talent development in Sarawak.

The MoU was signed by SAINS Chief Executive Officer, Busiai Seman, and Managing Director of Bluesify, Izman Ibrahim, in the presence of SAINS chairman, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam, who served as the official witness to the signing.

Chan commented on the significance of the initiative, highlighting its alignment with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) and Sarawak’s Digital Economy 2030 (SDE 2030).

“This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to digital innovation and human capital development, which are fundamental pillars of Sarawak’s growth strategy.

“By investing in cybersecurity and talent development today, we are laying a strong foundation for a secure, competitive and resilient digital economy for the future,” he said in his speech during the signing ceremony at Hilton Hotel today.

He asserted that with the collaboration, both parties would implement advanced cyber detection and response solutions leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to provide comprehensive threat visibility, prioritising data sovereignty, security, and regulatory compliance.

“Looking ahead, SAINS remains steadfast in advancing Sarawak’s digital future, fostering sustainable development, and driving inclusive growth through innovative technology,” he said.

Meanwhile, Busiai added that strengthening cybersecurity was not just a technical necessity but also a strategic priority.

“This partnership enables us to take immediate action to bolster both our cyber defences and local talent pool,” he said.

Meanwhile, Izman also conveyed appreciation for the opportunity to be part of this strategic collaboration with SAINS.

“At Bluesify, we see this collaboration as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Sarawak’s cybersecurity landscape.

“By working together, we hope to support the adoption of practical cybersecurity solutions and play a role in developing local talent equipped to meet future challenges,” he stated.

The MoU marks a significant step for SAINS and Bluesify to address current cybersecurity challenges while laying the groundwork for a long-term digital resilience in Sarawak.
