KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) and MoveNet Malaysia Sdn Bhd have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore new frontiers in Sarawak’s digital trade ecosystem.
The signing ceremony, which took place on Wednesday (Apr 29), establishes a framework for both parties to cooperate on digital trade initiatives, including the potential implementation of a Single Trade Window (STW) for the state.
The ceremony was witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during the PROTECT Sarawak 2026 international conference on data privacy and digital trust.
Through this partnership, SAINS and MoveNet Malaysia will engage in technical discussions and knowledge sharing to enhance efficiency, transparency and coordination across various trade-related processes.
SAINS chief executive officer Busiai Seman said the collaboration aligns with the state’s broader digital transformation goals.
“Through this engagement, we aim to better understand how digital solutions can enhance trade facilitation and strengthen coordination across relevant stakeholders,” he said in a statement today.
The MoU was exchanged between Busiai and MoveNet Malaysia senior vice president Steven Lim Kee Seng.
The collaboration is expected to focus on the conceptualisation and identification of suitable digital solutions to facilitate smoother trade operations within Sarawak’s growing digital economy.
