KUCHING: Sarawak Aerobig Day is set to return this year, bringing together communities across Sarawak in a statewide fitness and charity initiative that will target 5,000 participants across five cities and towns.

Organised by Bantu Sarawak and co-organised by the federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, the programme is supported by Life Event Borneo as event partner and Pay & Go as the registration platform.

The event continues to build on previous editions that drew thousands of participants and raise funds for Projek Noah’s Ark, reflecting ongoing community support for initiatives combining fitness with charitable causes.

For the 2026 edition, Sarawak Aerobig Day will be held in five locations across the state, beginning in Miri on Sept 27 at the MCC Carpark.

It will then move to Bintulu on Oct 4 at Dewan Suarah Bintulu, followed by Sibu on Oct 11 at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang.

Sri Aman will host the fourth leg on Oct 18 at Simanggang Waterfront, marking a new addition to the programme. The event will conclude in Kuching on Oct 25 at the Sarawak State Library.

Each location is expected to accommodate about 1,000 participants, forming a coordinated statewide movement promoting fitness and community engagement.

The inclusion of Sri Aman is seen as a key expansion step, allowing the programme to reach deeper into local communities across Sarawak.

To enhance participation, organisers will collaborate with local fitness and dance studios in each city such as ProFit Studio in Miri, I-Life Yoga and Dance in Bintulu and many others.

Registration for Sarawak Aerobig Day 2026 will be conducted via Pay & Go with packages priced between RM10 and RM50, with early bird registration closing on June 6, followed by Aug 31 for Miri and Bintulu and Sept 16 for Sibu, Sri Aman and Kuching.

Meanwhile, a Pay-It-Forward Pass has also been introduced to allow the public to sponsor Category A entries for those unable to afford participation.

This initiative aims to ensure broader inclusivity, particularly among youth and underserved communities, reinforcing the event’s focus on community participation and shared responsibility.
