KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library will be holding the Sarawak Authors Festival (SAF) 2018 from 15 to 21 October, 2018. Local authors of all backgrounds and levels of experience are invited to the festival, which is open to public, with different activities running from 8am to 6pm over the week.

Among the activities that will take place are ‘Writer’s Clinic: History Writing Workshop’ organised by Sarawak History Association, ‘Dapur Penulis’ by Persatuan Pelancongan Warisan Malaysia Cawangan Sarawak and an interesting programme for the technology savvy on how to produce a short film will be organised for the public.

Last but not least, a workshop on simple bookbinding and conservation for book lovers and collectors is also going to be held during the festival.

  Other programmes included in the line-up of activities are Pustaka’s Book Fair, Aeromixthon Challenge, digital content workshop, blood donation and health screening, as well as a Chinese calligraphy course for beginners.

As recognition to Sarawak authors, an ‘Authors Gala Night’ will be held, as well as a book launch for publication published in Sarawak by the guest of honour for that night, Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
