KUCHING: The Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) Kuching is inviting local businesses to take part in a trade mission to the 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou this October and November.
The delegation will be led by the chamber’s vice-chairman Chen Fumin.
The Canton Fair, widely known as “China’s No. 1 Exhibition”, is recognised as the country’s oldest and largest international trade platform since its founding in 1957.
It continues to attract tens of thousands of exhibitors and buyers worldwide, making it a gateway for global business connections.
This year’s Autumn Fair will be held in three phases, where the first phase, from Oct 15 to 19, will focus on machinery, electronics, hardware, auto parts, and building materials.
Meanwhile, the second phase, from Oct 23 to 27, will highlight household products including kitchenware, ceramics, handicrafts, toys, gifts, and festive goods, and the third phase, from Nov 1 to 5, will feature textiles, apparel, footwear, pharmaceuticals, food, and consumer goods.
MCCCI Kuching stated that the fair offers Sarawak entrepreneurs a valuable platform to explore international markets, expand their business networks, and diversify their product offerings.
Since its establishment in 1976, the chamber has consistently organised delegations to the Canton Fair, helping Sarawak businesses gain exposure and strengthen trade ties with China.
“We sincerely invite our business community to actively participate in this year’s mission.
“It is a unique opportunity for Sarawak entrepreneurs to seize international business prospects and engage directly with buyers and suppliers from around the world,” the chamber stated.
Interested participants are encouraged to register early.
