KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak is intensifying efforts to expand the market reach of its food and beverage products through the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak’s (MINTRED) debut participation at MYFOOD Expo 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
Held from May 7 to 9, the exhibition provides a platform for eight Sarawak entrepreneurs and companies from the food and beverage industry to showcase locally made products derived from the state’s natural resources to both national and international markets.
Among the products featured are Sarawak layer cakes and a range of food and beverage products based on terung asam, dabai, pepper, sago and sacha inchi, which are increasingly attracting market interest.
The expo is organised by Opulence Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd with support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and is held concurrently with the International Café & Beverage Show (ICBS).
Previous editions of MYFOOD Expo attracted more than 13,000 visitors from 55 countries and featured participation from international industry experts, reinforcing its position as one of the region’s leading food and beverage trade platforms.
MINTRED’s participation is also supported through collaboration with several strategic agencies, including the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED), Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), Department of Agriculture Sarawak and the Sarawak Manufacturers’ Association.
Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh was also present to show support for efforts aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs and strengthening Sarawak’s food and beverage industry presence in wider markets.
