KUCHING: The Sarawak Attorney General’s Chambers has strengthened inter-agency cooperation with its counterparts from Johor through a courtesy visit and knowledge-sharing session focusing on the management of civil cases involving Native Customary Rights (NCR) land.
The delegation, led by State Legal Adviser of Johor, Datuk Abdul Aziz Engan, comprised 21 officers from the Johor State Legal Adviser’s Office and the Johor office of the Department of the Director General of Lands and Mines (JKPTG).
The delegation was received by State Attorney General Datuk Seri Saferi Ali and State Senior Counsel, who is also Head of the Research Division, Dr Jady @ Zaidi Hassim, at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Friday (June 26).
The visit aimed to foster closer cooperation between the Sarawak Attorney General’s Chambers and the visiting agencies, while providing a platform to exchange experiences and best practices in handling civil cases, particularly those involving Native Customary Rights (NCR) land in Sarawak.
As part of the programme, State Senior Counsel Mohd Adzrul Adzlan delivered a presentation on the legal framework governing NCR land, including relevant provisions under the Sarawak Land Code, to facilitate a deeper understanding of the state’s land laws and case management approaches.
