KUCHING: Sarawak reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen oil and gas governance and resource management at the fourth Petroleum Advisory Coordination Committee (PACC) meeting today (Sept 2).
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also International Trade, Industry and Investment Minister and Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development.
It brought together state government officials, Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) representatives, committee members and the secretariat to review, coordinate and align petroleum-related matters.
PETROS was reaffirmed as the one-stop centre for managing technical, commercial, planning and execution aspects of the state’s oil and gas industry.
The meeting also stressed the importance of sustainable development and industrial growth to support Sarawak’s long-term socio-economic aspirations.
