SARIKEI: Basic rural infrastructure continues to see improvements with the upgrading of Siung Hwrong Sungai Tulai Road which has now been resurfaced with concrete under the People-Friendly Project (PMR).

The project was made possible through the efforts of Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii

“With the completion of this concrete road, the surrounding residents can now enjoy more comfortable, safer, and orderly access, which will ease daily routines and improve quality of life,” Huang said.

He added that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to balancing development between urban and rural areas.

“Basic infrastructure such as roads plays an important role in the lives of rural communities.

“The government will continue to ensure that amenities in rural areas are improved for the people’s well-being,” he added.

A handover ceremony for the completed project was held today, witnessed by Huang’s representative Wong Soon Mee and Sarikei Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) assistant engineer Sahrian Abdullah.

Residents thanked Huang for his continued efforts in championing rural development and infrastructure.
