KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) will organise the Landscape Maintenance, Grass Cutting and Drain Cleaning Seminar 2026 on July 14 – 15.
The two-day programme will be held at The Waterfront Hotel Kuching and Padang Merdeka, bringing together contractors, local authority officers and industry representatives.
“The seminar aims to strengthen competency, professionalism and compliance with urban maintenance standards among participants,” DBKU said in a press statement today.
According to the statement, the initiative reflects DBKU’s commitment to ensuring the city remains safe, clean, orderly and environmentally sustainable for residents.
“Participants will attend a series of presentations and knowledge-sharing sessions conducted by DBKU experts covering maintenance guidelines and technical specifications,” it said.
The seminar will also address Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) requirements, occupational safety and health practices, tree care management and green waste handling.
DBKU added that the programme is designed to enhance understanding of best practices while promoting higher standards in urban landscape maintenance operations.
“Subsequently, attendees will witness practical field demonstrations involving grass-cutting activities, drain-cleaning procedures and effective maintenance techniques in actual working environments,” it said.
“The hands-on sessions are expected to provide participants with valuable exposure to operational requirements and challenges commonly encountered during maintenance works.”
In addition, participants will also receive official certificates of participation and have opportunities to expand professional networks with industry players and related agencies.
The seminar fee has been set at RM750 per participant. Registration remains open until July 10, subject to availability.
DBKU encouraged interested individuals to register early through the QR code provided, noting that places are limited and expected to fill quickly.
