MIRI: Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the welfare of the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) and continuing his annual grant for the health benefits of its members.

Upon receiving a courtesy call from NSJA, led by its president Chai Chon Chin, Lee urged members to make full use of the grant for health screenings, emphasising that early detection of health issues can save lives.

“As journalists, your job is demanding and often hectic. It is important to prioritise your health and adopt a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

Lee, who is also the Transport Minister, has been consistently allocating the funds for NSJA members’ health benefits since 2016.

The grant enables members to undergo health screenings at any clinic.

In response, Chai expressed his gratitude to Lee for his continued support of NSJA, particularly in ensuring the well-being of its members.

“Lee has been generously providing this grant for NSJA members’ health benefits since 2016,” Chai said.

During the meeting, NSJA also presented an official invitation to Lee for its upcoming gala dinner on April 25, which will be held in celebration of NSJA’s 50th anniversary.

Also present was deputy president Clare Cinderella, who is the organising chairperson for the dinner.
