SIMANGGANG: An elderly man was found dead in a bushy area near Jalan Lingga, Kampung Tanjung Beladin here last night (May 16).
He was identified as 78-year-old Jolly Lugun @ Marten Lugun.
Firefighters from Sri Aman station were dispatched to the scene, about 13km away, following an emergency call at 6.46 pm.
Upon arrival, the team discovered the victim lying motionless about 100 metres from the main road.
Paramedics later confirmed that he had died at the scene. His body was then retrieved from the bushes and handed over to the police for further action.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 7.45 pm.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by the authorities.
