LUBOK ANTU: A small stash of syabu led to the arrest of two local men in Engkilili as police stepped up efforts against drug activities in the district.
The suspects, aged between 39 and 53, were detained by a task force from the district police headquarters (IPD) after they were found with 0.37g of the drug during an operation.
One of them had surrendered a plastic packet containing crystalline substances, believed to be syabu, when approached by the raiding team.
Urine screening tests later showed both suspects were negative for drug use.
Further checks found that one of them has a prior record involving drug-related offences.
Police said efforts to curb drug abuse in the district will continue to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community.
