KUCHING: Hundreds of students from across Sarawak were celebrated for their academic excellence at the annual Academic Excellence Awards, with 318 students from 16 secondary schools receiving recognition.
The highlight of this year’s recognition was the 88 high-achieving students from St Joseph Private School Kuching, the largest group of recipients from a single institution.
Other notable awardees included 57 students from SMK Methodist Sibu and 50 students from SMK St Anthony, Sarikei.
The awards were presented with the support of Naim Holdings Bhd through Tabung Amanah Naim.
The event was held at St Joseph’s Private School on Friday during its school assembly, attended by students, teachers, parents and invited guests.
“It gives me great joy and pride to celebrate not only your achievements, but also the dedication and resilience behind them.
“As you pursue your studies abroad, I hope you carry a piece of Sarawak with you and one day return with your knowledge and passion to uplift the community that nurtured you,” said Naim Holdings Bhd’s Corporate Communications and Marketing General Manager, Ailsa Hasmi, in a statement.
Beyond the awards, she added that Tabung Amanah Naim also supports deserving students in pursuing their education through various scholarship initiatives.
Looking ahead, Tabung Amanah Naim reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young Sarawakians through education-focused programmes that build character, inspire hope and create opportunities for the next generation.
Launched in 2016, Tabung Amanah Naim was established to support education and nurture the next generation of Sarawakians.
Its flagship initiative, the Academic Excellence Awards, recognises the hard work and determination of the state’s brightest students, while also appreciating the collective support of parents, teachers and communities that shape their success.
Since its inception, the programme has expanded to reach school across Sarawak, celebrating thousands of students who have excelled in their SPM and UEC examinations.
In addition, Tabung Amanah Naim supports deserving students through various scholarship initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to empowering youth through education.
