TELUK MELANO: Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has praised Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his dynamic leadership in driving Sarawak’s development.

He described Abang Johari as a leader who is approachable, friendly and attentive to both the state’s progress and the well-being of Sarawakians.

“I would like to say that Sarawak has a very dynamic Premier – someone who is approachable, friendly and deeply concerned about the development of Sarawak and the well-being of its people,” he said.

He said this when officiating Masjid Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah here today.

Al-Sultan Abdullah said he continued to follow the ideas put forward by Abang Johari and regarded them as meaningful and effective, particularly in the way they have been translated into action.

“I have always followed the ideas put forward by the Premier. His ideas are meaningful and highly effective,” he added.

“Those ideas have consistently been realised and implemented and, Alhamdulillah, have borne fruit for the people of Sarawak.”

At the same time, Al-Sultan Abdullah said Sarawak is also blessed to have a knowledgeable and experienced Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

He recalled working with Wan Junaidi when the latter served as a federal minister during his tenure as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“I had the opportunity to work with him when I was the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and he was a minister at the time. He gave me a great deal of assistance and advice during my tenure,” he said.
