KUCHING: The Kuching branch of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots service and unity ahead of its upcoming 67th anniversary “Sa’ati Night” celebration.
A delegation from the branch and the 67th Sa’ati main organising committee recently paid a courtesy visit to Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian to formally invite him as Guest of Honour for the commemorative dinner.
Speaking during the meeting, Dr Sim stressed the importance of early preparation as the political landscape evolves and election season approaches.
“The branch must continue strengthening teamwork, organisational coordination, and grassroots service capabilities,” he said.
He added that a strong political team requires not only clear direction and strategy, but also unity, discipline, and long-term commitment from members at every level.
According to him, these qualities remain essential in facing future challenges confidently.
Dr Sim also commended the Kuching branch for consistently demonstrating strong team spirit, dedication, and responsibility throughout the years.
He encouraged members to continue working together while upholding solidarity and mutual cooperation in serving the people.
“Since its establishment 67 years ago, SUPP Kuching branch has remained actively involved in community service, grassroots engagement, and initiatives contributing towards Sarawak’s social and economic development while safeguarding state rights and interests,”said the Kuching Branch representative.
“The upcoming anniversary dinner is expected to gather branch leaders, members, long-time supporters, and distinguished guests from various sectors, marking another milestone in the branch’s long-standing political journey and contribution to society,”
The branch also highlighted the importance of synergy between older, middle, and younger generations in building a stronger and more people-oriented service team capable of adapting to future political and community challenges.
Branch representatives emphasised that the 67th anniversary celebration represents more than a reflection on past achievements.
“Instead, it serves as a renewed starting point to strengthen unity, consolidate foundations, and move forward towards a more progressive and prosperous Sarawak,”it said.
