BAU: Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly raping his younger sister.
Bau District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, said the arrest was made after police received a report from the hospital that was treating the 15-year-old victim on October 9.
“Acting on the report, officers from the Bau Criminal Investigation Division detained the suspect at a house in Jalan Tasik Biru on suspicion of raping his biological sister,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Mohd Haide added that an investigation paper has been opened under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
If convicted, the offence carries a penalty of imprisonment for not less than eight years and not more than 30 years, and whipping of not less than 10 strokes.
