KUALA LUMPUR: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) has been honoured with The BrandLaureate Bumiputera BestBrands Awards 2026, marking a significant milestone for its contributions to entrepreneurship and community empowerment.
The statutory body received the prestigious accolade under the ‘Excellence in Entrepreneurship Development & Community Empowerment’ category during a ceremony held at The Majestic Hotel.
The award recognises TEGAS’ unwavering commitment to talent development, digital innovation and the creation of an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sarawak since its inception in 2012.
TEGAS Chairman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, expressed his gratitude, stating that the recognition reflects the collective effort of the organisation and the continuous support of the Sarawak Government.
“This award serves as a catalyst for us to further strengthen our initiatives in developing talent, empowering communities and stimulating the growth of digital entrepreneurship in Sarawak,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Apr 29).
TEGAS’ impact was notably visible throughout 2025, during which it executed 102 programmes with a participation of over 1.08 million people, significantly expanding access to digital skills and education across the state.
Key initiatives such as the TEGAS Digital Village and TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub continue to act as primary catalysts in supporting startups and accelerating technology commercialisation.
These efforts align with Sarawak’s aspirations toward a digital economy and sustainable development under the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
Representing Datuk Len Talif at the ceremony was TEGAS Deputy Chairman and Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport (Air and Road), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, accompanied by TEGAS Chief Executive Officer, Udin Bujang.
