KUCHING: Ten children have made it to the semi-final round of the national level Bintang Kecil 2022.
The semi-final show will take place at Auditorium P.Ramlee, RTM Kuching on Saturday (Dec 17).
Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) permanent secretary Datuk Hii Chang Kee said the Bintang Kecil programme is the best platform to hone children’s talents.
“We believe through such programme, a generation of skilled, creative individuals in Sarawak can be formed,” he said during a media conference on Bintang Kecil 2022 held at Harbour View Hotel, yesterday (Dec 13).
Hii added that the diversity in backgrounds of the 10 participants also gives the impression that the field of art is a unifying element and shows the spirit of unity.
The ten contestants are Elle Precious Arnold and Nur Qasih Umairah Abdullah (Sarawak Zone); Fateeha Nasleen Suhaillin and Qahirah Maisarah Syahlil (Sabah Zone); Adam Syahmi Mohd Faizul Hafiz, Nurfarina Farha Abdul Zahir, Wa’ie Mohd Zain, Puteri Ainul Farisya Zuraimi, Loo Zhi Hui and Kyesha Sahana Gomez from Peninsular Zone.
Meanwhile, RTM senior assistant director (TV section) Saiful Arini said entrance to both semi-final and final shows is free.
Four contestants will be eliminated in the semi-final round leaving six advancing to the final round to compete for the Bintang Kecil 2022 title.
The semi-final show will also feature invited artistes namely Fieya Julia, Amir Masdi and Meruked.
A cash prize of RM20,000, RM15,000, RM10,000 will go the top three winners with RM5,000 as consolation prize as well as trophies and certificates.
The finale will be held on Dec 24 at Stadium Perpaduan, Petra Jaya.
Hafiz Suip, Aina Abdul and Aman Ra will be the guest performers for the finale.
Bintang Kecil 2022 semi-final concert will be broadcast live on TV1, radio broadcast via SARAWAKfm and NATIONALfm and Faceboook live RTM Sarawak while the final concert will be broadcast live on TV2.
Also present at the press conference were Bintang Kecil 2022 producer Mohd Redza Razali, Harbour View Hotel Operation Manager Terrance Christopher Jim and MTCP principal assistant secretary Nasir Lariwoo.
