PUTRAJAYA: Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, has described as “madness” the alleged case of a three-month-old baby being raped, recorded, and the video sold online.
Speaking during the Home Ministry’s monthly assembly here today, he revealed that he was briefed on the disturbing incident at 12:30 am, stressing the gravity of the matter.
“If you are being briefed at midnight, it is definitely a major issue. It’s never something minor.
“The baby was raped, recorded on video and later the video was sold. That’s madness,” he was quoted as saying on FMT recently.
Speaking to reporters later, Saifuddin declined to disclose further details as such cases could trigger unnecessary public alarm.
“If this is splashed on the front page, public reaction becomes something else entirely, even though it may be just a single incident. So, I’m not going to give much detail on that,” he said.
