MIRI: Three people were injured after a four-wheel-drive (4WD) they were in collided with a lorry laden with oil palm fruits at Km 20 along Jalan Miri-Marudi on Monday (30 May).

Fire and Rescue Department acting chief here Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said five firemen from the Marudi fire station were rushed to the scene on being alerted at 1.59pm and helped free one of the victims who was trapped inside the 4WD.

All the injured victims were subsequently taken to Miri Hospital for treatment.

The lorry driver escaped unhurt in the mishap.
