SARATOK: A local man was taken into custody for allegedly abusing drugs in Roban on Saturday (April 18).
The 25-year-old was picked up following a public tip-off, when a police team led by Inspector Henry moved in to inspect him.
He was later taken to Saratok Police Station for a urine screening test, which returned positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Saratok Police Chief, DSP Mathew Manggie, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect has no prior criminal record.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a fine up to RM5,000 or imprisonment of up to two years or both, upon conviction.
In addition, the suspect shall also be placed under supervision for two years under Section 38B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
