SIBU: Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi has celebrated Sarawak Day with orphaned children at the Kompleks Kebajikan Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang (KKJTHB) here through welfare contributions and community activities.
Organised by the Sarawak Board of Orphans Welfare (PERYATIM), the visit saw Fauziah present contribution envelopes to all 62 children residing at the welfare complex as a gesture of care and support for their wellbeing.
She also joined the children and staff in activities including a bubur pedas cooking demonstration, a traditional weaving craft session and a cake cutting ceremony held in conjunction with Sarawak Day as well as birthdays of KKJTHB staff and residents.
Fauziah later spent time with the children over afternoon tea while enjoying cultural performances by the residents.
She was welcomed by PERYATIM board members, led by KKJTHB chairman Datuk Mohamad Yusnar Matalie, together with PERYATIM chief executive officer Siti Hatizah Abang Sebit and staff.
In his welcoming speech, Mohamad Yusnar thanked Fauziah for visiting the complex, saying the occasion would leave lasting memories for the children and staff.
Meanwhile, KKJTHB alumnus Williyan Ricky Abdullah, who is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geoinformatics Science at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), described the visit as a meaningful honour for the welfare home’s residents.
According to a report, the visit reflected Fauziah’s continued commitment to supporting the welfare of orphaned children while fostering compassion and togetherness within the community.
